DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: It is my principle to search for an equilibrium between the diversity of figurative expression and basic functionality.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: This design was created for the purpose of experimentation to explore the diversity of forms. Rather than posters that convey a specific message, this series emphasizes visual impact. The effects and means of expression discovered in this experimental production will be utilized in future design production.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: Since this series was created as an experiment, we had no particular plans to create and continue to create more, but we believe that the discoveries made in this experimental series of works, can play a role in the creation of other designs.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: From the perspective of the series as a whole, it will take more than a year, including the collection of materials and research of reference materials, but the production of each poster will not take that long. The production of one poster at a time, however, does not take that long.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: This is my original creation, with the purpose of exploring the possibilities of typography with regard to the intent of its creation.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: We have no plans to commercialize this series of works, but if there is an opportunity to exhibit them, we intend to showcase them.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The visual elements used in the creation of his work are based on modernist architecture, which has been reduced to the structure of some buildings. Eliminating excessive ornamentation, economical and utilitarian buildings have become simple geometric forms, and many boxy modernist buildings have been erected, associating the revolutionary cityscape as a reproduction of the very utopian cityscape described by the 16th century English thinker Thomas More in his book "Utopia". Hence, I titled my research and production "Utopian City.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Created with Adobe Illustrator.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: Sacrificing typographic clarity and functionality in favor of a loose orderly deployment allowed for maximum visual diversity and impact.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: I created this design by myself.
