SK : Designing this particular concept took several years, considering the development of the patented technology. SK : I designed this concept based on personal experiences and a desire to address the challenges I faced. As someone who feels cold easily, I used to rely on bulky jackets to stay warm, which often drew attention and made me feel self-conscious. I noticed that many people resorted to using disposable heat packs to combat the cold, but this solution was not environmentally friendly and lacked control over the temperature. Inspired by these observations, I decided to create a portable fashion accessory that would allow users to adjust the fabric temperature according to their preferences. The CrossOver Scarf not only offers temperature control through a smartphone app but also resembles a regular knitted scarf when unplugged, ensuring a stylish and versatile design. Additionally, the scarf is washable and reusable, reducing waste and promoting sustainability. SK : At present, we are producing the CrossOver Scarf ourselves in Hong Kong. However, we are also open to the possibility of collaborating with global brands and potentially licensing out the patented KnitWarm technology to expand production. Our aim is to make the CrossOver Scarf widely available and accessible to a larger audience, ensuring that more individuals can benefit from its innovative design and functionality.
SK : I was inspired to design the CrossOver Scarf because I noticed that existing heating mechanisms were bulky and lacked the ability to be washed or withstand multiple folds. I wanted to create a solution that incorporated textile innovation, allowing it to seamlessly blend in with regular scarves without the appearance and feel of electronics. It was important to me that the scarf was skin-friendly, which led me to utilize natural materials that could combine the benefits of both the material and the technology.
