DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: The idea of representing history of the great national stadium in the journey of restoration was to combine the archives of old documentaries and the new masterplan of the national stadium park into modern and minimalist look.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: I tried to make a simple and sleek design which emphasized more on the data that has been provided by the architect in the process of renovating this project.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: I will use this award well but I will not be pleased with myself but will continue to improve myself so that I can be better as a designer because all of my hard work was awarded by this award.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: This project lasts approximately 4 months due to the provision of data and feedbacks from authors and the client but for the concept and the design process itself only takes approximately 1 month.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: The approach to this project is indeed more based on briefs from the client. I just developed a design style to commission it so that it would be easier to accept informations for the audience.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: This design has been produced & published by clients for celebrating the 18th Asian Games.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: I decided to use with vibrant colours to revive the journey of restoring and kept the monochrome look on pictures to give the historical element and composted with minimalist structural layout & graphic elements from floorplans give interesting details but simple approach.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: I work alone on this design project.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: The main target of this project is government institutions, architects, and public.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: The combination of vibrant colors makes the overall design look modern and contemporary and yet still has some historical elements (derived from monochrome pictures, old documentaries, etc.).
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The name of this project is very simple following the title of this book.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: I am using Adobe Indesign and Photoshop only.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: The most interesting aspect of the design are the combination of vibrant colours, monochromatic images, and old documentaries to revive the journey of restoring of the great national stadium for 18th Asian Games.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: For the design part, I work on myself. This project also involves the architects in providing data and archives of old documentaries.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: Technology (especially computer) plays an huge role as I work on this project because I have to combine all the elements with that.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: The entire research process was done through the internet.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: In the process of designing this project, the biggest challenge is combining and presenting the ‘old’ and ‘new’ data such as drawing (plans, sections, elevations, axonometric projections), rendering, diagram and short texts. All informations are designed with sleek & simple style.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: At first I was just feel fad because I didn't expect to win considering there were so many other talented designers out there.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: I learned that we must be able to listen to each other's interests related to this project so that the result produce the appropriate design that will accommodate all parties.
