We had the distinct pleasure to interview award winning designer Atsuko Tateno about their original and creative Animal Portrait design work. Atsuko Tateno is an award-winning communication designer, that makes our world a better place with their original animal portrait works.
Atsuko Tateno ("AT") answered Design Interview ("DI") questions about their award-winning work Face Animal Portrait. Interview questions prepared by Frank Scott.
AT : I have a dog who can tell me how she feel with her facial expression. I wondered the other animals can do the same thing with their eye. I wanted to design the images if they can.
AT : I focused on retouching the photos to have a natural and beautiful look.
AT : I want to be a photographer, and a retoucher.
AT : I wanted pursuit my skill as a retoucher. This project is my personal work.
AT : I wanted to challenge myself to be better.
AT : This design is for the companies like, magazine, photo studio, and photo-retouching company since I am looking for a job of photo-retoucher, and photographer.
AT : I show the detail of animals very well.
AT : It is about the Face of animal, so I named the project.
AT : Nikon, Photshop, Lightroom, and Pentablet
AT : The background color of pictures has been changed to match the each animal.
AT : It was hard to retouch the photos to get natural look with plain color background.
AT : I got email from the people of A’design award & competition to give a try.
AT : I learned how to add text to the photos to appeal as a design project.
