Interview with Enrique Rodríguez LeThermidor at Thursday 30th of April 2015: DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
ER : Using body weight as integral part of the chair function, in order to minimize chair structure. Deliver more with less.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
ER : A beautiful piece of functional sculpture / furniture that stands in only to legs. Simple and practical.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
ER : Work to expands its use as a street furniture all over europe, design variation and materials exploration

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
ER : 6 to 8 months

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
ER : I was looking for a practical yet beautiful sculpture/furniture

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
ER : I do you plan to lease the production and commercialization rights for europe, and other countries.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
ER : life passsion for great chairs

DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
ER : Not that I am consciouss of...

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
ER : Street furniture deals, via institutions and gov. entities also is a beautiful garden furniture

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
ER : easy to build and cost oriented, beauty and balance.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
ER : La Chaise Impossible....

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
ER : the impossibility of its existance, balance and sustance

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
ER : physics
