Interview with FAHR 021.3 at Thursday 3rd of October 2013: DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
F0 : The main idea was to explore a specifically traditional theme and framing the proposal in the current context in which it occurs.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
F0 : For a proposal with the party theme S.Joao team developed a survey around the tradition and spoke with locals. After gathering this information the design should have the socioeconomic consciousness of a country in crisis, and the materials chosen are the element that causes the reflection faded color of a gray society full of sadness.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
F0 : The idea is to try to continue to make an active and conscious society where we are called to intervene.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
F0 : Since the moment we were asked for a proposal to implementation about three weeks.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
F0 : The client requested an intervention for the St. John's party and the idea of covering the square was created by us because we consider having more impact and involvement with people.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
F0 : What made ​​us draw this type of structure was the importance that this traditional party has in the community.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
F0 : The choice of materials employed as a result of a socio-economic crisis.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
F0 : The name comes directly from the name of the party.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
F0 : For the initial design we use the digital tools and 3D modeling, for the assembly only with sweat and dedication of the local community.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
F0 : It is the relationship with the local people and the rehabilitation of tradition using reflected balloons instead of colored.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
F0 : The main challenge faced was to convince the population that the tradition can be shaped and adapted.

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
F0 : It is always necessary to keep our work and assets active and wherever possible apply for it. This is a prize that interests us, at least for participating.

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
F0 : Not always the assumptions of the design has to do with what we learn in universities but often has to do with what we have learned in life and contact with people.
