Interview with Guido Formenti at Wednesday 10th of August 2011: DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
GF : Creating something unusual, but useful items.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
GF : I do not plan anything. I did not expect either to win.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
GF : 350 hours for design + construction.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
GF : I create what I feel inside me.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
GF : If you are interested to sell or rent, but if it will fulfill orders from me.

DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
GF : Project and work alone.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
GF : The columns seem to rocks smoothed by wind and thunder and lighting ______upward.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
GF : Paper and pen and square.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
GF : Columns are different each other, but with the same postion for the same size

DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
GF : I did everything by myself.

DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
GF : None.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
GF : None.

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
GF : Static.

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
GF : To improve myself.

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
GF : Every day in every job you learn something new. A new day and a new job grow up my experience.
