DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: The multifunctional fanny pack is the main product, main design, main inspiration, main idea. Our award winning bag a inspired by our most famous multifunctional fanny-pack.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: As any designer I wanted to achieve perfection. Every small detail counted. This design is inspired by our famous multifunctional fanny packs and that was my main focus.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: I will make this bag in different colours, but I will also improve this design for ultimate perfection.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: The design was in less than an hour but the product development took 3 months.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: This design was inspired by our famous multifunctional pouches.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: All our bags are produced by manufacturers. I design, I choose all materials and the manufacturer is putting it all together.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: Inspiration.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: My logo inspiration came from Gucci, Chanel and YSL but my designs were inspired by my own needs and vision.
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: Fashion minded people who are confident, classy and chic, who loves fancy dining, who don't mind to pay more for quality, who admires timeless designs.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: It's the bigger sister of our multifunctional pouches.
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: The brand name POUCHI is derived from the word "pouch", which
means "bag" or "sack" since the idea of our very first product was to make a multifunctional fanny-pack
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Paper and pen.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: Our multifunctional pouches are wearable as a fanny-pack, shoulder bag, cross body, clutch and wallet. The chains are also wearable as a belt.
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: I worked alone on my designs. I still do.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: Multifunctional wearable styles.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: I did the research for the brand name, the logo and the design of the bag. I wanted to be sure that what I do would be unique.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: The biggest challenge was to find a manufacturer to make the perfect end-product from this design.
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: I didn't know about this international design competition until A' Design Award Academy emailed me about my designs and suggested to submit my designs to the competition.
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: I learned how to become a designer and set up my own brand. I didn't attend any design school. I didn't worked in any kind of fashion brand. I had an idea and I just typed in google: "how do I become a bags designer" - That's where my journey as a designer began.
