We had the distinct pleasure to interview award winning designer Ioanna Milopoulou about their original and creative Brand Identity design work. Ioanna Milopoulou is an award-winning communication designer, that makes our world a better place with their original brand identity works.
Ioanna Milopoulou ("IM") answered Design Interview ("DI") questions about their award-winning work Doboho Brand Identity. Interview questions prepared by Frank Scott.
IM : Very simply: hand crafted and free spirited. An almost flying hand!
IM : A couple of hours. But then refining and experimenting in different possible outcomes took some more days. But for some reason, I keep returning to my initial ideas and instincts. After some point, the more you work on a design and get focused on the detail, the more you lose its initial strength. At this point, I have learned to stop.
IM : It was commissioned from my client, Eleni Karastefani, the maker of the hand-crafted bags. I wonderful co-operation, with mutual respect that allowed us both do bring the best of ourselves in it.
IM : It seemed very suited to Eleni's character and products. After all, for a commercial project, we don't do design for the sake of it, we respect and we serve certain rules and needs set ad hoc.
IM : Not really. Basically it was the product and the client that set the tone.
IM : Women, of all ages, of the boho fashion style.
IM : Its honesty, I think. It is the result of a relationship, and every relationship is unique.
IM : Eleni's craft is very personal to her and absolutely non-mass production oriented. She works at her atelier, quite introvert, and she produces all sorts of bags, prototypes, not one is similar to the other. Free spirited and bohemian. So the name is basically her voice, I Do Boho...DoBoho. And also a call for other women to share.
IM : Instantly draw the logo on Illustrator.
IM : Imperfection. Human. Happy.
IM : After the logo was presented and approved, I worked with the photographer Dimitris Skordas for creating Eleni's Dohobo portfolio. Basically that was the team!
IM : Marginal, I must say. It is basically hand made. Both bags, logo, tags, packaging and everything!
