DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?

VW : Tell a story. The serif iconic monogram, the clean typographic name, the manuscript tagline, the vine farm illustration, the wooden package, the silk paper involving the bottles, the straws inside the bottle, it was all projected to be an amazing experience.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?

VW : We wanted to design something that was so beautiful and classic it would influence the buyers choice both on a physical store or digital.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?

VW : We just want to show it to the hole world! As much as possible, we love to inspire.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?

VW : Actually designing around 30 days, but the hole process took months.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?

VW : We were hired by the marketing team responsable for RB5.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?

VW : This is a real project, RB5 owns full rights over all projected designs.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?

VW : We were hired by RB5.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?

VW : A class middle aged latin american men and woman.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?

VW : The way we were capable of reducing all elements to only the most important, and still beautiful, I think is one of the unique points.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?

VW : R: Rodolfo B: Bartolini 5: 5 Bartolini brothers. The naming was a very important and complex part of the story.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?

VW : Illustrator and Photoshop.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?

VW : I believe the most amazing part of the project was the RB5 monogram. But close up to that the quality of the print materials.

DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?

VW : Tec plays a very important role in the twenty first century. The creation, perfectionism and distribution is surrounded by technical assets.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?

VW : The first step in our process is understanding the problem and the second is research. We find out target audience, create the persona, and study these analytical data for days before designing anything.

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?

VW : It was very difficult to fit so much meaning and story into a simple minimal abstract icon. The 5 number, with the RB letters inside, was very complex.

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?

VW : I've known A' Design Awards for years, was just waiting for the right moment to send the best of the years work.

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?

VW : We had to study physical materials and assets to compliment the packaging production. Also about the specific printing process.
