Daria Kwon ("DK") answered Design Interview ("DI") questions about their award-winning work Bliss Thai Brand Identity. Interview questions prepared by Frank Scott.
DK : Main idea is to express the feeling of exotic fruits, plants and Thai summer through abstract illustrations without drawing realistic stereotypical objects.
DK : Series of abstract illustrations and graphic elements in bold bright color palette, hand-written logo and lettering for postcards.
DK : About a month.
DK : This design was commissioned.
DK : The design is being used by company, who is my client.
DK : Female, age 16-50, who are interested in exotic Thai cosmetics.
DK : Bright individual style in combination with lettering, abstract illustration and color pallet, specially developed for the project.
DK : The client already made the name. It consists of words 'Bliss' and 'Thai', and together they read as 'shine' in Russian.
DK : Calligraphy: brush-pen. Photoshop and Illustrator.
DK : Lettering, abstract illustrations, color pallet.
DK : Self-conducted desk study.
DK : During the realization of the project, it was difficult to find a manufacturer of packaging, that meets quality requirements.
