DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
KAMD : The main idea is to create an outdoor kitchen, to be used both in winter and summer, the inspiration was the way my clients lived.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
KAMD : The main focus is to integrate this large kitchen area into the landscape without being invasive.
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
KAMD : I would like to be able to design in other countries
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
KAMD : this was designed within two months.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
KAMD : This design was assigned by a family, who wanted the garden differently and the exterior of the house was transferred to the interior.
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
KAMD : The design is not used by another company and we do not plan to sell or assign any right
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
KAMD : Our company is dedicated to designing exteriors.
This particular design was thought by a specific requirement of our client.
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
KAMD : The influence of my work is manifested by a long journey through travel and great architects and landscapers
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
KAMD : The target customer is a private individual, specifically a family of 4 people.
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
KAMD : The difference of other projects, is the use of space, integration of architectural elements and the integration of the environment to the project
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
KAMD : The creation of the name is because it is literally an outdoor kitchen, within the landscape and the house.
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
KAMD : First pencil and paper then program like Sketchup and AutoCAD.
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
KAMD : The unique aspect is being able to live the environment and the house at the same time
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
KAMD : This project was worked internally in our office, where architects and landscapers collaborated.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
KAMD : It is fundamental since it is very important to be able to show the project in real form in 3d and with very real renderings
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
KAMD : We carried out a topographical investigation, analysis of the environment and a lot of concern about the materials.
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
KAMD : Each project is a challenge, this, in particular, was mainly the environment (land, climatic aspect, topography etc.)
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
KAMD : How did you decide to send your design to an international design competition?
Participate in 2017 with a project that obtained Bronze, it was a unique experience and I would like very much to be able to have a better prize this time
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
KAMD : Every time you design something different, you learn new things since every project carries an investigation that makes the project unique
DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
KAMD : I really enjoy designing and building this project, I worked a lot with my clients so that they would be tied up with what they wanted.
