Interview with Kyung il Chung at Sunday 24th of April 2016: DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
KC : Sling is wireless speaker that actively invites the users to the sustainable design. The principle was to create a mechanism that will change the user behavior without having to add another step in product interaction and pulling the cord was the solution that is chosen for Sling.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
KC : The project started off as a sustainable design project. However, I wanted to move on from the current trend of material implementation and more actively involve the users to the environmental problem. By doing that I could have a freedom in aesthetics and mechanism therefore a new type of sustainable gadget was designed.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
KC : I would like to integrate the design to a brand. Branding is a strong motivator which in behavior change perspective, is one of the greatest driving force.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
KC : The project initially started off as a sustainable design research project. However I took the research value to more tangible concept. In total, the whole project took 3 months to develop.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
