Interview with Evgeniya Naumova at Tuesday 26th of April 2016: DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
EN : The main idea was to create beautiful and balanced design for textile accessories, which will be able to emphasize an individual stile of their owners.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
EN : I wanted to create a unique collection of tippets and headscarfs, united by one theme, which will be able to use in different shapes for different cases and seasons.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
EN : I print my designs in several pieces trying to do all of them unique. I don’t print one motive without changes for many times. I will print them for a small edition and realize in some clothing stores.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
EN : About three months from idea to realization in material.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
EN : Textile is one of the most necessary things in people’s everyday life: clothes, interior textile, linens and etc. Scarfs, headscarfs and tippets are used all over the world. I like to work with textile – it is very “warm”, soft and plastic material. I’m inspired both of motives for my print and fabric itself.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
EN : I don’t have plan to sell or lease the production rights, I produce it myself. Digital printing provides in the manufacture, not by myself. But all author rights belong to me.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
EN : It was my inspiration and challenge and my wish to improve myself like a textile designer.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
EN : The target customers of this design are women who love world of fashion and style.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
EN : The main set is the unique design of collection, which consists of tippets and headscarfs. Each piece of collection has its own finished composition. It is not a piece of reported fabric, but a unique a certain size composition. Big size of tippets provides a use of them not only like a traditional tippet or scarf, but also like summer’s top.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
EN : “Mosaic fantasy” means my inspiration from worldwide mosaic works, which was gathered, rethinked and designed in my own fantasy work.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
EN : Sketches are drawn first on paper, and after finished in computer graphic program. Digital printing was utilised for the silk fabric. Digital printing technology is very conveniently for small quantities of fabrics. The last stage is manual one - seam processing of prepared tippets and headscarfs.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
EN : Author print of all collection’s items, I think.

DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
EN : Technology is the way to realize design in material. Without it it’s a picture, but not a textile accessory.

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
EN : It’s the best way to get adequate assessment of your design, to get more recognition and promotion of your design and brand.

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
EN : During creating this collection, the idea of next collection was born. Of course, I upgraded my skill in drawing and using Photoshop too.
