We had the distinct pleasure to interview award winning designer Osmose le bois Sas about their original and creative Lamp design work. Osmose le bois Sas is an award-winning industrial designer, that makes our world a better place with their original lamp works.
Osmose le bois Sas ("OLBS") answered Design Interview ("DI") questions about their award-winning work Calyx 48 Lamp. Interview questions prepared by Frank Scott.
OLBS : The final design of the lamp shows itself once the assembly is done : its shape of corolla (such the calyx of a tulip), the disk, the various blades (sepals) and the bulb (pistil) which compose it are directly inspired by the botanical Universe and by the vegetable Kingdom.
OLBS : The main focus was to create an original lamp which allows a mixed and variable concealed lighting that breathes a warm and radiant atmosphere.
OLBS : This object is not a prototype anymore and we launched it last december. We are expecting news cooperation's mode to make our product accessible to the largest number.
OLBS : It took us about 4-5 months to design this particular concept (the lamp Calyx).
OLBS : We decided to pursuit an inspiration (this product is sold on our eshop).
OLBS : For now, we intent to produce our work ourself. Things might be different for the future.
OLBS : This particular type of work is especially well adapted for our CNC equipment which allows a precise (nesting), reproducible and fast manufacturing.
OLBS : The Latin origin of the lamp "Calyx" comes from its shape of corolla (tulip), the disk, the various blades (sepals) and the bulb (pistil) which compose it are directly inspired by the botanical Universe and by the vegetable Kingdom.
