Interview with Grigoriy Malitskiy and Maria Malitskaya at Sunday 17th of March 2013: DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
GM : Summer walk in the evening pavement in search of free seat became the starting point in the idea of creating a Space Generator. Why benches don't grow from under the ground like mushrooms? The basic idea of our design - invention - to create a multifunctional space, which can change quickly for specific tasks and needs of the city, the customer, the final user. / Летняя прогулка по вечерней мостовой в поисках свободной скамейки стала отправной точкой в идее создания Генератора пространства. Почему бы лавочкам не вырастать из-под земли, словно грибы? Основная идея нашего дизайна - изобретения – создать многофункциональное пространство, способное быстро меняться под конкретные задачи и нужны города, заказчика, конечного потребителя.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
GM : The search of the ways for implementation of the concept. / Поиск пути для реализации данной концепции

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
GM : The idea was born in a moment, as it usually happens, afterwards was stage-by-stage work, for manifestation of design intention, in total it took about 2 months. / Сама идея родилась в мгновение, как это обычно и бывает, далее шла поэтапная работа, чтобы выразить ее, в общей сложности ушло около 2-х месяцев.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
GM : Only inspiration. / Исключительно вдохновение.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
GM : We are ready for dialogue and a variety of options for the implementation of this project. / Мы готовы к диалогу и различным вариантам по реализации данного проекта.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
GM : Representatives of the exhibition, presentation and shopping areas, museums and galleries, theatres, car companies, as well as large corporations, municipal administrations and other potential clients. / Представители выставочных, презентационных и торговых площадок, музеи и галереи, театры, автомобильные концерны, а также крупные корпорации, городская администрация и другие потенциальные клиенты.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
GM : As far as we know, there are no analogs. It's our invention, and it is in a stage of patent registration / Насколько нам известно, аналогов нет. Это наше изобретение, и оно находится в стадии оформления патента.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
GM : In the name we wanted to express the main function of the design, allowing to generate different spaces by the transformation of the platform. / В названии мы хотели отразить основную функцию данного дизайна, позволяющую генерировать различные пространства путем трансформации площадки.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
GM : Unique in the fact that this concept is the invention, which allows to one and the same element base to create an absolutely different volumes and scenarios. / Уникальность в том, что данный концепт является изобретением, позволяющим на одной и той же элементной базе создавать абсолютно разные объемы и сценарии.

DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
GM : This is a high-tech design / Это высокотехнологичная конструкция

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
GM : The goal of participation is to find partners and investors for realization of the invention. / Цель участия - найти партнеров или инвесторов для реализации данного изобретения.
