Interview with Enric Rota jovani at Monday 18th of March 2013: DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
ER : Comfort.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
ER : A better life!

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
ER : Promotionate our work.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
ER : 3 years.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
ER : It was all fruit of inspiration.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
ER : First I would like to produce this design on my own, see how it works.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
ER : I have always been keen on adjustable lighting, cozy shadows and other light possibilities.

DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
ER : No, there weren't.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
ER : People who enjoy design objects for their everyday life.

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
ER : This light is unique because the lighting is adjustable thanks to the analogic blinds system.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
ER : The general name is functional description. There are several models, each one with a different name inspired by roots from ancient languages.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
ER : Pencil, eraser, coffee.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
ER : It is adjustable.

DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
ER : An industrial designer, an architect, a graphic designer...

DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
ER : None at all.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
ER : No, it isn't. I didn't make any research, I just followed my inspiration and my instinct.

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
ER : Making it easy.

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
ER : I saw an add on the Internet, and then I decided to get in.

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
ER : Making things easy sometimes is very difficult! I learned to be more patient and enjoy all the parts of the process that I didn't know about.
