Interview with DAHOM FuJian at Tuesday 12th of March 2013: DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
DF : To create a Low Carbon LED replacement for Metal Halide Lamps.

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
DF : Most retail and commercial spaces still utilizes the traditional metal halide lamps. These lamps engages up to 200W of both heat and energy. Imagine each of these lamps being used for at least 10 hours a day. Till now, there has not been an energy saving solution to metal halide due to its demand for strong light output and need for good color rendering. After long research into LED modules, Dahom selected Xicato’s XSM Artist Series LED Modules as they are able to produce up to 95CRI and the lamp needs only 35W energy to deliver up to 3000 lumen light output. Thus making it a perfect replacement for metal halide lamps. And emitting much lower carbon.
