Interview with Anarkhos design . at Friday 8th of March 2013: DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
A. : We wanted to explore the many qualities of light. From its luminoucity, heat, and even its ability to embody time. We wanted to explore how we could physically manifest these qualities into a single form.

DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
A. : There is a present movement to turn away from traditional incandescent light bulbs, disregarding their ability to produce heat, labelling them as being ínefficient' or non sustainable. However, we wanted to explore how there are qualities in these everyday items that transcend their given value.

DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
A. : We want to make a prototype first. but there isn't any hard set plans yet.

DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
A. : the basic idea was discussed over a dinner outing, but the design development in total took around about a month?

DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
A. : it was not commissioned. it was just an idea that we thought had potential.

DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
A. : we don't really have any set plans as of yet.

DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
A. : light is a very interesting substance to play with. this was simply the product of our design process.

DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
A. : no, just the three of us in our team.

DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
A. : someplace that can allow for the mood and the pace of its atmosphere to be induced. possibly in a food and beverage setting?

DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
A. : we thought it would be fun to explore multiple dimensions in a single product. light, heat and time.

DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
A. : Muse's definition is to 'meditate'. We thought that the light fitting could have a strong rehabilitative quality.

DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
A. : photoshop and sketchup.

DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
A. : the dealings with multiple dimensions we think.

DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
A. : no. it was all inhouse.

DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
A. : not so much technology. the workings of this product is bare bones simplicity. but there must be great skill involved by the hands of the hot glass blower to achieve its form.

DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
A. : no, it was more based on philosophy more than anything.

DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
A. : the realizing of a product that was manufacturable.

DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
A. : We wanted to test ourselves.

DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
A. : we always learn something new from our projects, whether it be about our teamwork, or our design development process.
