Interview with Seyed Ali Alavi (SA), regarding views on design, and for the award-winning Family Center Store design. Family Center was a 2013 - 2014 period Golden A' Architecture, Building and Structure DesignAward Winner.

Interview with Seyed Ali Alavi at Monday 14th of April 2014: FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? SA : The main idea comes from nomadic architecture of the region with similar materials and contexture. Wood ceiling plank and panels, sloped roof (gable/ shed/gambrel), are all used in many of the buildings in Northern Iran. .. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? SA : There are a few reasons why I enclosed the long (30 meters) front wall. One, was that the existing building's elevation was really unpleasant, and I had no permission to touch it! Secondly, by enclosing the front facade, I gained 30 meters of wall space inside. According to my daily observational statistics study, majority of shoppers chose to go inside the store just because of curiosity, and to see what's happening behind this facade Curious forms. .. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? SA : Advertise it to people know me better...

Ajando Next Level C R M Corporate Architecture Concept Interview

Interview with Peter Stasek (PS), regarding views on design, and for the award-winning Ajando Next Level C R M Corporate Architecture Concept design. Ajando Next Level C R M was a 2013 - 2014 period Golden A' Interior Space and Exhibition DesignAward Winner.

Interview with Peter Stasek at Saturday 19th of April 2014: FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? PS : Information Makes the World Go Round - Material is not the building material of our world, but rather information. This is not the position maintained by some Internet-addicted, social media nerd, who cannot imagine anything beyond World of Warcraft, Foursquare and Twitter. No, John A. Wheeler, one of the most well known quantum physicists of our time, made this claim. He and his colleagues already discovered decades ago that material is an illusion. In reality, our world is composed of information. .. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? PS : Obtaining Information from Data - And that's as true as true can be! Real information is only obtained when we combine, visualize and present the right data in the right way. Information that inspires and motivates people. This is a very fundamental core skill at ajando. "The dynamics of this information flow can be seen as the driving element of the complete company". Consequently, my architecture office made the data and information flows of ajando visible in our corporate architecture concept. .. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? PS : My most favorite design is based on the connection between the tangible and intangible. For this reason exist many instruments, among others the holography or the sound design for architecture based on the measured material swinging. The project ajando represent only a little step in this intended direction, which should be continued in form of further greater projects. ..

Zeitgeist Clock Interview

Interview with Dmitry Pogorelov (DP), regarding views on design, and for the award-winning Zeitgeist Clock design. Zeitgeist was a 2013 - 2014 period Golden A' Home Appliances DesignAward Winner.

Interview with Dmitry Pogorelov at Friday 18th of April 2014: FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? DP : The main idea of the project Zeitgeist is an investment philosophy of modern time. If we associate different times, then we'll get that era associated with the technology of the time. For example, Ancient Egypt is a stone processing and construction of the pyramids, the 19th century is a century of steam engines, the 20th century - the century of cars and space exploration. And all it required its technologies. 21st century is associated with high technology. High technology should reflect the zeitgeist, which is associated with smart, tech and durable materials. Clock is an image of time, so it was chosen to represent the base of the concept of time spirit. High-tech face of the product is reflected in non standard body (semi torus) and time display (light holes). The absence of central part shows that innovative LED indication replace classical clock mechanism. Carbon completely depicts high tech by itself, and its combination with polished metal emphasizes this feeling... FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? DP : I concentrated on the reflecting function in the form. But the main problem was the reflecting of philosophy itself. It had to somehow show that metal as a relic of the past is replaced by a smart composite material. It was all shown in the sculptural form of a clock, as something coming out from the wall like a fountain: exiting metal is replaced by carbon, which displays time indication... FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? DP : Of course, the main purpose of my participation was to confirm the status of the product. Now I would like to do it on the market promotion and icon A 'Desing Award can help me in this. Undoubtedly, this is a product of my face as a designer and I have to promote myself also...

Profit Sports Drink Sports Drink Package Interview

Interview with Jeff Klok at Friday 18th of April 2014: FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? JK : To transition PROfit from a relatively standard shape and appearance to a brand that stands alone on the shelf. We wanted to create a product that reflected athleticism and sports in its design. .. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? JK : To create a truly iconic package that differed from the rest of the competition. There are a lot of brands out there offering similar hydration formulas. PROfit stands apart from most of the segment as a Hypotonic, rather an Isotonic, likewise, we wanted the container to stand apart as well. .. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? JK : Since the release of the package, Toni has seen a steady increase in sales due to the new container. We hope that they continue to climb and that PROfit becomes a primary player in the Sports Beverage market. ..

The Coanda Ceiling Fan Interview

Interview with Constantino Papatsoris (CP), regarding views on design, and for the award-winning The Coanda Ceiling Fan design. The Coanda was a 2013 - 2014 period Golden A' Home Appliances DesignAward Winner.

Interview with Constantino Papatsoris at Friday 18th of April 2014: FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? CP : We are in the era of the "Internet of Things," where smart, connected devices are becoming more and more ubiquitous in the home, with devices such as Internet-enabled baby monitors, lightbulbs, and even thermostats. The Coanda is a smart, learning ceiling fan that connects to the Internet in order to let its owner control temperature settings as well as adapt to changing environmental conditions and weather variations to provide optimal temperature and energy settings. The device is also a redesign of the function of traditional ceiling fans, applying the Coanda effect and the Bernoulli principle, and drawing inspiration from other ventilation systems in the market, such as laptop computer fans and industrial air amplifiers... FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? CP : We wanted to bring innovation into a household appliance whose design seems to have remained largely ignored over the last few decades. Keeping in mind that the amount of energy required to run a ceiling fan is far lower than the energy required to run an HVAC unit, we also wanted to create a device that people would find easy to use, as well as beautiful to have in their homes, in order to help users save money on their energy bills, while also helping the environment in reducing overall energy costs... FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? CP : The device would ideally work best when paired with a smart thermostat. We would like to see it go into production, but as students, we do not possess the means to bring this concept to reality. We are in the process of registering the intellectual property behind this design, and we are open to a partnership with any entity willing to help us bring it to market...
