DI: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
: Presenting the correct methods of saffron consumption and saving its quality and freshness beside focusing on cultural participation as well as observing the principles of emotional deign, have led to design this product.
DI: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
: As I said above alongside correcting the saffron consumption and acquainting with my countries culture and its subset such as art and architecture and handy crafts & souvenir
DI: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
: i expect to supply it to the prospect market.
DI: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
: I have to divide the design process to two, the first & the most Time-consuming part is finding a new mechanism for grinding the saffron threads and after that the fewer time was designated to whole shape and its style that totally takes around 2 years.
DI: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
: The answer is seems to be like to the answer of question No.1
DI: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
: No it is not produced or used by another company, but i expect to supply it to the prospect market.
DI: What made you design this particular type of work?
: My mental disturbance as a designer was creating another pestle method which is following to-day design trends and agreeable to the modern kitchens to achieve the best performance and also to improve the keeping and consuming methods without using any external elements (like adding sugar) to facilitate grinding and make it more efficient
DI: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
: Ustad Mohammad Reza Isfahani is the name of the architect and builder of Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque in Isfahan which his masterpiece helped me a lot
DI: Who is the target customer for his design?
: The saffron providers and also the Household Consumers
DI: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
: My design is begotten by my worldview, my countries culture & customs. so altogether my design should be an incomparable output
DI: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
: This name is came from crocus which the crocus is the botanical name of saffron and also this abbreviate name is my studios name
DI: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
: Phase of Project; sketches, Rhinoceros programs, graphic programs, 1/1 partial model Phase of production; 3d printing
DI: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
: Foods (saffron as a spice has a key role in preparing food) are one of the most important elements of every countries culture which will make the nations close together.as a result having creative design to include three cultural, touristic and natural aspects of Iran as a single and unit product is the main unique aspect
DI: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
: in this project i did individually.
DI: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
: in this case i focused on the quiddity of saffron grinding more than bringing new horizons of technologies to the target users.
DI: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
: The shroud angle and quantities in the grinder core is specially designed to grind the saffron threads is the most particular research for designing the grinder mechanism
DI: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
: Merging the Iranian architecture masterpieces motives in the body of a product which its target users are not only Iranian is one of them
DI: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
: The A'design award is an opportunity to participate my design & present very little part of my countries historical background as much as I can
DI: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
: Doing every Project is a chance to learning about new materials, new manufacturing methods in principle to use & etc., so it will bring me new experiences during these times
